Helping with wood
Today, we went to some families. These families don´t have a lot of money. So the church helps them so that they could get what they need. Now it’s wintertime and really cold. So everyone needs to heat their house, so we brought them wood.
We started at the church. There we picked up three women and rode to the home of the first woman. It was a small house in a small street. The first thing we saw was wood laying in front of the house. The woman had told the church that they were freezing and that they didn’t have wood. She was lying. Why? It was easy to see that she didn´t have everything she needs, but wood was there. She could have easily asked for what she needs and the church would have tried to provide. Now it’s difficult to trust her and to know what she really needs…
After that we went to another house. They really needed the wood. We gave it to them and they were really happy and thankful for it. It was very sad to see how some people have to live. Also in the third house, it was sad to see how they live there. The girl had to marry just after she finished high school. Now she is 23 years old, a mother and not allowed to work. Most of the time she lives with her mother in this house. They too got wood and they were also really happy with it. By the last house, we saw wood in the front again. The woman told us, it was from another family. So we give her wood.
On the one hand it’s hard to see the circumstances in which people have to live. It makes me really thankful for everything I have, but it makes me also sad because it’s unfair that not everyone has the same chances and to see that there are little children who have to grow up like this. Then on the other hand I’m really thankful that the church is helping them and that I could be a part of this today!
